This term, four of our amazing year 9 sports leaders took on the challenge of inspiring 10 year 3/4 girls at St Michaels School through an after school sports club. The aim of the project was, ‘getting girl active’ and this required four of our outstanding role models and leaders. Isabella, Erin, Lauren and Zara planned and delivered three after school sessions for the girls using handball as their sport. They designed skills, challenges and games to engage the year 3/4 girls, help them develop their fundamental movements skills, their communication, resilience and team play. After three weeks of fun and learning the girls presented every child with a certificate for one of the key skills where they improved and now look forward to welcoming them to Teign school in the summer term for a celebration day.
