Teign School’s ‘Born to Win’ Gifted and Talented Programme
The year 5 & 6 ‘Born to Win’ Gifted and Talented programme came to a close this week.
A huge thank you must go to our brilliant sports leaders for making these sessions possible.
Massive Congratulations to the primary students involved. We have spotted some incredibly talented young individuals and have loved having them join us.
Each year this opportunity is planned to grow and evolve. For the primary schools working within our partnership, there will be termly projects to support the gifted and talented students, the young sports leaders and those currently struggling to engage with physical activity. We want to strive to really support all of our young people in a way that best suits them and help them prepare for a future where sport or physical activity is at the centre.
It was great today to have some conversations with some of the students involved to help us gain some understanding of what they have found useful and to help us reflect and build on the activities for next year. Some of the responses have been really lovely.
‘I enjoyed the competition and I feel I am now a better team player’ J, St Michaels
‘It was great to be active with friends and be challenged’ S, Rydon
‘It has been a fantastic time’ L, Kingsteignton
‘Its been a great way to broaden my experiences. The activities have been fun and I have really enjoyed it all’ M, Chudleigh
We are really looking forward to hopefully meeting some of these year 6’s again at the Big Step transition project in the summer. Hopefully you will agree that Mr Wylie now much looks smarter in his kit that was sponsored by this brilliant company!
