Teign School SEND football Success
Following our success at the Devon Schools SEND football tournament in March, (and students pestering us for more opportunities!) Teign school attended a follow up tournament with Paignton Academy. The aim was to continue to build the skills and confidence of students, have fun and experience a competitive sports tournament on a different school site.
Two teams of seven students (mix of boys and girls) played a league format against two teams from Paignton academy. It was clear that the experience earlier in the year had positively impacted all involved as they really excelled with their improved skills and confidence.
After three league games it was into the playoffs to decide the final positions. We were delighted that Team 1 led by Scarlett won in the final and took home the very impressive trophy. In the third and fourth place play off team 2 led by Jack lost 4-2 in a closely fought game despite an incredibly determine fight back.
Most valuable team players were Catetlyn and Tyler with Jamie and Scarlett receiving the ‘Character’ awards for their determination and effort.
Well done superstars and thanks for another fun day out. We can’t wait for the next tournament in June.
