Curriculum
Students attending the UTC will study, in collaboration with other Education South West Trust schools, a combination of GCSEs and A Levels alongside a technical qualification in their chosen specialism.
Key Stage 4
Core Offer
KS4 students at South Devon UTC study GCSE Mathematics, English Language, English Literature and Double Science, PSHE and PE along with a suite of four Engineering or Health-Care qualifications in their chosen specialism.
Engineering Specialism: Engineering Design, Engineering Manufacture, Engineering Technology and Digital Information Technology
Health-Care Specialism: Health and Social Care, Child Development, The Prevention and Control of Infection and Relationships, Sex and Health Education.
Key Stage 5
At Key Stage 5, students study a Level 3 Engineering or Health Care Science qualification. The size of the qualification can vary with the equivalence to one, two or three A Levels. This allows for flexibility in curriculum choice in order to enable successful progression onto top quality university courses, advanced or higher apprenticeships, or directly into employment.

The timetable features allocated lesson time for Careers Information, Advice and Guidance, Citizenship, PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education), Sports and Physical Education, alongside time for independent study and a choice of interesting and varied enrichment activities.
Employer-based projects are embedded into curriculum qualifications to develop business and employability skills.
