Today, Kingswear Primary’s Adventurers were lucky enough to visit Paignton Zoo as part of the zoo’s 100th anniversary, providing free day trips to local schools to encourage knowledge and understanding of animals and the wonders of nature. There were lots of interesting animals to spot, both indoors and out, and the pupils also focused on where these animals originally lived and how critically endangered they are in the world – including how climate change affects this data. The ape house was a firm favourite and linked in with our current Evolution topic in Science. We say a huge “thank you” to Paignton Zoo for giving us this opportunity.
