ESW News 18 June 2021
I am writing this on Thursday, so a bit like ‘Have I got News for You’ am assuming nothing monumental has occurred on Friday morning…
This week saw the not unexpected announcement of a delay to reopening. Although this brings great disappointment regarding the cancellation of a number of planned end of term activities, amidst all the complaints from various political quarters about this, I have been impressed once again in the way that we have taken this on the chin and just got on with things, coming up with alternate ways of achieving similar ends. Of course, it is great sadness to those children who are missing out on key events but helping them to see the bigger picture is something which staff in ESW are excellent at. Let us hope that this delay will mean that we don’t have to go backwards once again in the Autumn.
I have attached to this message details information about reformed NPQs and our ability to offer these to staff. If this is something that you are interested in exploring please contact your Headteacher/Principal. You can also find more information here (including a brief animation) and LSSW/SWIFT webinar recording here.
Finally, a few new additions. I would like to welcome to ESW Pippa Truman Davies to the role of Clerk to the Board and Executive Assistant.
I am also delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Stead, Tom Graham and Rupert Greeves to the roles of Directors of Curriculum, Quality and Innovation. They will be working with Curriculum Development Leads to shape and drive forward our world class aligned curriculum. Sarah, Tom and Rupert join our existing team of Directors, Paul Girardot and Nick Banwell. Paul is leading on primary curriculum development and Nick Banwell will commence his role in September, leading on our untaught curriculum and shaping CPD across our family of schools. As the momentum of innovation gathers traction we Look forward to increasing the scope for Trust-wide development roles.
Have a great weekend, when it comes.
