ESW News 16 July 2021
The end of term for children is normally about trips and visits, finishing off topics, consolidating learning done and having a thought to the new year and new challenges. Proms, leavers assemblies, bidding farewell to friends. Saying goodbye to teachers with whom they have worked closely before moving onto new ones. It is about playing in the park with friends, being able to stay out that bit later and enjoy the lighter evenings.
This week in particular it has been about being told to isolate; having events and trips cancelled and picking up on the uncertainty about the summer which is blasted from every media outlet.
Whether you are working from home or school you have all contributed to making the anxiety and uncertainty faced by children and their families that little bit easier to manage. I know some of us have faced challenge from many quarters: disgruntled, frustrated families, children or colleagues as well as external agencies, but you continue to do so with resilience. Meanwhile, you all continue to focus on our core business: education of children. Making lives better for others. Across ESW plans for improvement continue, be it work on curriculum; training for wider coaching opportunities; development of NPQ provision; curriculum review and development; IT infrastructure; premises summer works and many others.
Thank you seems insufficient.
Have good weekend (and a hot one by all accounts), when it comes.
