It’s not every day you get to see a snake or an armadillo up close – or even tickle one on the head! The children and staff were treated to an animal experience with Animal Encounters with Chris Johnson and had a brilliant afternoon. Herbie the armadillo was amazing us with his speed around the pen and fondness for having his head stroked, whilst we also learnt about the habits and diets of snakes, blue tongued skinks and tenrecs. Did you know that the tenrec is distantly related to an elephant? Definitely not in size though!
